In short: we only collect what we need to arrange your trip, we never sell your data, we do not use advertising trackers, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

Goan Tourister is a tour business based in Panjim, Goa, India, offering boat rides, cruises and tour packages through goantourister.com. We are responsible for the personal information described here.

2. What we collect

• When you book or message us: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, travel date, number of persons, and anything you tell us in your messages (for example, special requests). For some trips, the boat operator or authorities may need guest names and ID details.
• When you pay online: our payment partner Razorpay collects your payment details. We only receive the payment status, amount and a reference number, never your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN.
• When you visit the website: like any website, our hosting provider (Google Firebase) receives basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type when pages load. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.

We do not use advertising trackers or tracking cookies. The website keeps a few site settings in your browser for a few minutes so pages load faster. Some packages show YouTube videos; if you play one, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies under its privacy policy.

3. How we use it

• To confirm and manage your booking, and to tell you about changes such as timings or weather.
• To process payments, cancellations and refunds.
• To answer your questions and give you support.
• To keep records required by law (for example, accounts and tax) and to keep the website secure.

If we ever send you offers, you can ask us to stop at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only when needed:

• The boat operator running your trip, so they can welcome you (for example, name, number of guests and date).
• Razorpay, to process online payments and refunds.
• Google Firebase, which hosts our website and booking data.
• WhatsApp: chats with us on WhatsApp are also covered by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
• Government or port authorities, when the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for your booking, refunds and support, and longer only where the law requires us to keep records.

6. How we protect it

Our website uses secure (HTTPS) connections, and only our team members can see booking data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it.

8. Children

Bookings must be made by an adult. We collect children’s details only as part of an adult’s booking, when the trip requires it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
